Ingredients
1 serving of whole wheat spaghetti
2 tbsp olive oil
1 cup of bell peppers, diced (we like to mix up the colors)
1/2 cup of onions, chopped
1 sausage of your choice, sliced (turkey, chicken or beef all work!)
1 cup of your favorite pasta sauce (we used the Tomato Basil Marinara from Trader Joe’s)
Instructions
Bring a pot of well-salted water to a boil and then cook the noodles for a minute or two less than the package instructions (they will cook further in the pan later).
Drain the water and set the noodles aside.
In a pot on medium heat, add olive oil.
Sauté your onions and bell peppers until the onions are transluscent.
Add the sliced sausages and continue to sauté for 3 minutes.
Add the pasta sauce and continue cooking until the sausage is cooked through.
Add the noodles to the pot and stir in with the sauce until all the noodles are coated.
Transfer to a bowl and serve warm with parmesan or other toppings of your choice!
